Congratulations to the team at Speedy Signs EmbroidMe in Rotorua as first time entrance in the Rotorua Westpac Business Excellence Awards.
The likely lads have pulled off an amazing feat by winning this year’s Jo La Grouw Snr Memorial Award for Manufacturing and Trade. Business Owners

Darren Burborough and Richard Haigh were delighted when the announcement was made. The businessmen and their staff along with their family were all “extactic” at winning such a significant award amongst other strong contenders such as GJ Gardner Homes and Mac Auly Metals. The support received from all their staff was amazing. I attended the evening on behalf of the Business Franchise Group and must say that I have never seen such strong commitment by everyone involved within the business, to put together an outstanding presentation for the awards. You only have to look at all the aspects of how they run their business to see why they have been granted this prestigious award. Darren and Richard are always striving for perfection and they never do anything by halves! The elation I witnessed by the Speedy Signs EmbroidMe Team at the awards was something very special to me. In over 25 years in supporting franchise businesses I have never seen such a united group of people striving for success.
Starting the business as a Speedy Signs franchise in 2007, the team has gone on to win several awards within the Speedy Signs group, and over recent years have won industry sector awards with the New Zealand Sign & Display Association. Last year Darren and Richard decided they wanted to solidify their business as a “one stop branding solution” and added the EmbroidMe franchise to their stable so they could offer branding on clothing and other promotional products.
Success is no accident from this locally owned Rotorua business. This comes because of their commitment to the staff, customers, and the local community.
Congratulations Guys!
